DECTFL is honored to have Leslie Grahn as the keynote speaker. She most recently was the Coordinator of World Languages for the Howard County Public School System in Maryland, has co-authored ACTFL’s The Keys to Strategies for Language Instruction and serves on the boards of MFLA, NECTFL, and NADSFL.
The keynote topic is “Strengthening Your Core.” In this keynote address, participants will increase their familiarity with the ACTFL’s and Delaware’s Core Practices for World Language Proficiency and reflect on their “core strength.”
Fellow World Language colleagues and publishing houses will present sessions on best world language learning practice. Participants will choose from multiple sessions that are offered every hour. Vendors from the top publishing companies will be present to showcase their materials. Participants will leave with many activities, strategies and games that coincide with the Common Core Standards. Participants will gain a better understanding of World Language learning and how it can be applied to the Common Core Standards in order to achieve language proficiency. Please bring a computer, i-Pad, or other electronic devise.
