Are you looking for an opportunity to grow your leadership skills? Interested in learning how to effect change in the WL arena? Leadership Initiative for Language Learning (LILL) is opening a new cohort this summer.

The Leadership Initiative for Language Learning is based on the premise that every educator is a leader and strives to be highly effective. For language educators, effectiveness is demonstrated by evidence of learners’ growth in proficiency, including their growth in interculturality. This initiative aims to bring the best and brightest language educators, teacher leaders, and national experts to explore this issue and others important to you and the language organization naming you as an emerging leader. As an emerging leader, you will have the opportunity to discover your sphere of influence for effecting change, engage with peers, and create your own proactive plan in support of the organization (DECTFL) naming you to participate, while growing in your effectiveness as a leader and language teacher.
LILL is a two-year commitment for this new cohort of emerging leaders, agreeing to participate in two summer institutes: June 2021 and June 2022. At this time, plans for the Summer Institute for 2021 are set for the dates June 28-30. The final determination of how the Institute will be led (in person, virtual, or hybrid), will be decided in April.
