What the TECH am I supposed to do?
Meredith White, Gwinnett County Public Schools, GA
Saturday, January 23 @ 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

This virtual workshop will provide teachers with Meredith’s favorite hybrid/virtual teaching technology tools. Said tools, in the context of proficiency-based teaching, will be framed within the modes of communication as well as lesson planning, grading, and district/school/department collaboration. Don’t come for the latest, greatest, teacher shiny object; come to see how one teacher is navigating the world of hybrid/virtual teaching and which technology tools may be right for you (if any). Teachers will receive all materials shown during and after to review, edit, and use on their own.

Effective Assessment by Mode (Covid Edition)
Rebecca Blouwolff, Wellesley Middle School, MA
Sunday, March 14 @ 1:00–3:00 p.m.

What practices promote effective assessment in hybrid and remote settings? How can teachers remain faithful to the principles of the integrated performance assessment (IPA) given current circumstances? This webinar will explore time-saving adaptations for assessing the interpretive, interpersonal and presentational modes in hybrid and remote classrooms. Come away with concrete examples of abbreviated assessments, single-point standards-based rubrics, and techniques to increase student ownership via reflection and goal-setting. This workshop will include opportunities for small group conversation and planning your own assessments.

Increasing Student Participation in Online and Hybrid Language Learning
Leslie Grahn, Independent Consultant
Saturday, February 27 @ 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

New language learning environments have presented a variety of challenges with engaging students, particularly in the area of active participation in learning. In this webinar, participants will be able to plan for shifts in instruction in response to the challenges. They will deepen their understanding of Generation Z learners and will gain strategies for building classroom community based on interdependence. A menu of effective, instructional, and accountability strategies will be explored for increasing student active participation in language learning.

Effective Hybrid Learning in the Language Classroom
Maureen Lamb, Kingswood-Oxford School, CT
Saturday, March 20 @ 1:00–3:00 p.m.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
