Resources
DECTFL has always made providing quality professional development a top priority for its members and 2020 was a benchmark year all things considered.
The Monthly Webinar series started last Spring and continuing this year has provided an incredible range of PD opportunities at no additional cost to members.
October 2020 saw the wildly successful virtual conference come to fruition that had over 30 presentations for more than 150 attendees. Those presentations have been made available to attendees online for consumption in a way that conferences have rarely offered before.
The momentum continues in 2021 this Spring with an engaging, relevant opportunity for you on Friday, March 5th, 2021 from 8am to 11am.
Megan Smith & Kara Parker of the Creative Language Class are creators of the blog and alternative textbook series (Adios Textbook) that focuses on proficiency-based and authentic resource inspired curriculum development for World Languages. They responded with an incredible amount of enthusiasm and excitement at the opportunity to work with us.
Megan and Kara will present Snapshots: Assessing Language Performance (aka “Keep it Simple: IPAs”). This is a step-by-step session to help you efficiently and simply create Integrated Performance Assessments. You will see lots of examples for each mode and skill, along with practical tips on how to create realistic tasks and scenarios to tie it all together. In the end, you will have the necessary steps to create and implement (logistics, grading, etc) your own – and keep it simple!
Pricing for this PD opportunity will be $15 for Members and $30 for Non-Members.

I would strongly suggest that you confer with your school and/or district leadership to explore having this quality professional development opportunity (and membership!) paid for. This is tailored-made for your discipline. Much better than a generic training.
Follow this link to register for the DECTFL CLC Spring ‘21 PD opportunity.
Lastly, State of Delaware employees are eligible to receive clock hours for recertification. Please remember to sign-up in PDMS (#56181).
The registration deadline is Friday, February 26th, 2021.
This is a great way to finish an uneven year on a high note.
On behalf of DECTFL, I hope that you decide to join us for this morning of learning and growth!
