DECTFL Teacher of the Year and Friend of Languages Awards
2026-2027 TOY Nominations are open!
The nominee must be a full-time teacher in the State of Delaware. Private and public school teachers, as well as university instructors, are eligible. Anyone can nominate a teacher for the award. You may even choose to nominate yourself. An individual may nominate only one person. Please complete the attached Google Form to submit your nomination. Read all the requirements on the attached Teacher of the Year Application Form.
All nominations are due by Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Once a nomination has been received, DECTFL will contact that nominee. Any nominee who accepts the nomination will have until Friday, May 22, 2026 to complete and turn in the application, portfolio, signed commitment, bio, and all relevant work.

Besides a Teacher of the Year, can you also think of someone who supports World Languages? Nominate someone for the Friend of Languages Award. The nominee must be a member of the Delaware community who has made contributions above and beyond the call of duty by directly or indirectly advocating for World Language education, awareness, and dissemination.
